About us
The Klimerko story
Klimerko started with a simple hackathon idea, and in just two days, a prototype was born.
Today, it stands as a functional device and a thriving community.
Its evolution is ongoing, made possible by the dedication of activists from the Internet Society of Serbia, Hacklab Belgrade, and the Descon community.
Why Klimerko matters
At Klimerko, our goal is simple: we want you to have easy access to reliable information about the air you breathe. This empowers you to make better decisions about when to step outside and how to stay safe on polluted days.
We use technology to tackle environmental challenges, working closely with the community to make a positive impact on our planet.
Descon: Where it started
Our journey started in 2018 during the Air to the People initiative at Descon: it was there that the initial prototype was declared the winning project.
Descon is an annual technology and climate change conference and hackathon in Southeast Europe, led by founder Desiree Željka Milošević and supported by the Internet Society of Serbia.
Internet društvo Srbije
As a group of tech enthusiasts, the Internet Society of Serbia explores the potential of the internet in areas such as science, art, education, and daily life.
Aligned with the global Internet Society, our goal is to make the internet more accessible, enjoyable, and a force for good in society.
We're especially passionate about promoting free software to ensure more people can access the online world, advocating for the freedom to publish information of public importance, and utilizing the internet in education.
